Multi-Discipline Athletes Shoe....Quick Fit & Release Laces
The Vibram Fivefingers® Bikila LS™ is the quick release lace release version of the now well established Bikila™ family of Fivefingers® barefoot footwear.
The Bikila LS™ has been designed for athletes with a slightly wider foot or higher instep as it has the unique Quick Release toggled lace system that allows for a wider collar opening. This has been a well received addition to the existing Bikila™ family.
Still possessing the revolutionary Vibram® TC1 Polyurethane Sole designed specifically for the Bikila™ range that affords the wearer the benefit of a varied grip sole for all conditions and climates and adds to the overall grip without the loss of feel through to the ground to ensure your barefoot experience is not compromised.
Ideal for rectifying over/under pronation in running styles, to return the wearer to their "natural" standing and running position.....the way nature intended. The upper is constructed using a Coconut Active Carbon fabric with added anti-scuff fabric at the toe tops to reduce the risk of damage that could be caused by rocks and tree stumps.
3M® Reflective detailing for night use and a lightly padded collar opening for added comfort and a more "conventional" trainer appearance without compromise to the footwear's integrity or pedigree. A truly "roadworthy" addition to the Fivefingers® range.
Product Features & Uses
The Origins of an Idea
Fivefingers® footwear was the brainchild of industrial designer Robert Fliri. He proposed the idea to Marco Bramani, grandson of Vibram founder Vitale Bramani, who invented the first rubber soles used on mountaineering boots in 1936.
An avid sailor, Bramani was intrigued by footwear that felt like a glove and worked like a second skin. Fivefingers® protected Bramani's feet from dangerous rigging and obstacles on board his boat whilst delivering a surefooted grip. The FiveFingers' patent-pending design provided greater dexterity, improving agility, balance and control.
Drawing on his experience as a sailor and a veteran of the footwear industry, Bramani worked with Fliri to refine Fivefingers® into what it is today - the first footwear to offer the sensation of going barefoot with the protection and security of a Vibram® sole.
Fivefingers Technology
The typical human foot is an anatomical marvel of evolution with 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. Like the rest of the body, to keep our feet healthy, they need to be stimulated and exercised.
That's why we recommend wearing FiveFingers for exercise, play, and for fun. Stimulating the muscles in your feet and lower legs will not only make you stronger and healthier, it improves your balance, agility and proprioception, the sense that indicates whether the body is moving with required effort, as well as where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other.
