EU Orders and Post-Brexit Customs Liability

Since January 31st 2020 the UK is no longer part of the EU and therefore all orders placed and sent to any EU destination, are now considered as potentially liable for taxation at the point of entry and not taxation at source.

This means that any orders placed with Baselayer Ltd for delivery outside the UK and Northern Ireland, are shipped without applying UK VAT and therefore may be subject to local Country rules for Customs and VAT charges.

These local charges are determined by each country and Baselayer has no responsibility for dealing with these local charges that may be applied prior to the Customer receiving their goods.

All such charges are the responsibility of the Customer to pay within their country shores and are not the responsibility of Baselayer Ltd.  The receiving customer remains liable for all and any local tax and customs charges that may be applied.
